Dude - I feel your pain. Happened to me just one time but with the HUD display, the windscreen is $$$$

Hope you get it replaced soon- looks too big for a repair job...

I have a small cracked windshield..... I have to live with it until it is completely cracked! I know I hate it.... Always keep away from trucks..... they are the windshield killers.

Sorry to see that. Make sure to have a bmw certified shop change the windshield. My insurance tried to cheap-out on me and twice, the "cheaper" guy sealed the windshield incorrectly and I got a whistling sound at certain higher speeds. I finally convinced my insurance to have the windshield replaced at a dealer-approved shop...the other guy eventually was fired by the insurance company! The insurance had to pay for all THREE replacements.

I feel your pain... I'm on my 5th windshield in my E60 driving years. On my previous 525i, cracked one driving behind a truck, then after replacement, about 2 days later, crack again, a pick up truck. Then I sold it on the third windshield. A week ago, on my 520d, cracked again, behind a pick up truck, just got my car back today iwht the new windshield. So All in all, I've used like 5 windshield on 2 E60s. LOL. Pure bad luck, I know.

The guy they sent last time used BMW glass...or at least it had a bmw logo in the corner etched into the glass. Also, not sure if coincidecnce but I had major issues with the fast track sensor.
