My Ride: 2006 525XI, Jet black on Dakota beige. Premium and winter packages. I consider myself a purist and intend to keep my car absolutely stock and shiny. 2008 328I Convertible, Sapphire black on beige interior. Premium package, NAV, iPod adapter. Retired: 2002 325I, Titanium silver on black leather. Premium package. Absolutely stock and proud of it.

Funny how people worry about expensive repairs on a used car so they buy a new one costing many times per month what the old one would have cost them in repairs.

My advice, once the CPO is up, don't give your money to any of these shady aftermarket companies, just pay for the repairs as they come up and consider how much cheaper it is than monthly strokes on a new one.
Another idea is to shop for a new car, get a figure for the monthly payments without buying the car and put the monthly payment into an interest bearing account. After a few months, you will have a tidy sum that should keep up with most car repairs. If the money is not used up, they will then have a huge down payment fo the next car, after a few years of relatively trouble-free driving. Works for me.....

Thanks guys. all your opinions make sense. I guess I will do my research and ask my local dealer how their experience is with some of these companies, or if they know of a good one. If experience says they don't pay out much, then I might just take a risk.

Well regardless of when the CPO runs out. Get all the fluids changed in the car and it will help tremendously toward the life of the car. I just hit 40K on my car last week so and I have an oil change and break fluid change in about 3k miles and I am having them change the diff and trans. I need to keep my car till the F10 comes out. No matter what you cannot go wrong changing your fluids.
