I didn't attempt any runs with Brian this time around. Basically, the Launch Meet was set up to pit Eric's IS350 vs Brian's 550 Step. Eric's right in that down low the IS can hang very well with the 550. I'm sure that as the speeds get up into the high triple digits the V8 will pull on the V6. But of course, they never did get that high in speed.
Well, I've got good news and bad news: The good news, my Acceleration Assist is working!
Bad news, massive wheel spinning costing me time.
I had only two launches. The first launch, I forget to push the start button.
My second launch was a 5.9. EBMCS03 and ak47si recorded both my launches. Hopefully, I can upload the vid in the next day or so. I can understand what realtyman is going through everytime he uses AA and gets a crappy time.
Only if my tires would stick, I know that my times would be real good. Oh well...

Hi all.Made 1/4 run this morning with my GT2 timer. Results as follows:
0-60............5.17
1/8 time.......8.82
1/8 speed.....81.0
1/4 time.......13.56
1/4 speed.....104.20
60' time........2.00
330' time......5.77
1000' time....11.42
weather conditions
temp.......57F
dew point..57F
bar...........29.94
altitude.....400'
humidity...63%
It appears that as the weather gets cooler here my times are getting better.I don't know what the corrected figures would be,maybe Znod can crunch.
You SOCAL guys are really into performance numbers,I wish I lived closer, would like to join the fun.
Just a note from Znod and my experiences. The weather has a lot to do with your times.Especially when the temp gets over 65F with high humididty.I don't know how cold it gets in your area in december and january but I expect you will get much better results if you test during those months.

a bit sucky to put in the nice context. It seems Eric knows how to lunch almost to perfectiopn his IS350 or the Lexus tranny lets you floor it and pcikup graddually with an initial litte slag to rpevent wheel spin
also what is the the difference in weight as these 2 are in difference classes...like it was said before a Subaru WRX is a 4 doors and can give you a run for its money....so dont get sad about it..imagine how a 750 or 650 owner feels when a 335 beats them

also what is the the difference in weight as these 2 are in difference classesThe way I launch it is Left foot on brake right foot on gas... I let off the brake fairly fast and as let off I feed gas... Kinda like driving a manual and letting out the clutch... Seems to be working for the IS so its ok for me.

Hi grogan545,
Yes, the Socal guys are very much into the performance numbers. We took the cues from you and Znod.
Saturdays conditions were not very conducive to launches neither was the road surface.
Temperature: around 72F
Dew Point: 59.9
Pressure: 29.79/1008.7hPa
Humidity: 65%
Altutide: 0 - based on the car's readings

Brian actually offered to let me do a couple of launches in his car. I passed on the chance. I know how to brake torque but have never really tried it. Eric, you shoulda took the opportunity!
Unfortunately 500 gained 110 libs compared to 545. The correct weight is 3,925. That may partially explain why 550 is/feels slower than 545.
