IMO alpine WHITE looks pretty good too..

i guess it depends. im getting an e60 sport, and desperately want the alpine white - because its an awesome (and incredibly cocky) colour. however i live in sweden, and would have to wash the car 3 times a week during half the year to keep it anywhere near that WHITE colour....
so carbon black for me - you really should go out to your dealer and look at the colours - cb is black from afar, but up close in the sun it shimmers dark blue. very, very cool.

Carbon black
It's the only colour that's exclusive for the M Sport Package!
The Titan Silber or Silver Grey are also very nice!
Mystic blue is also very nice!

It looks good on ALL colors.... better than the standard kit, for sure.
But if we have to choose.... it looks like my cat says its best on my car, which is titanium gray. And he is always right.

But I'll give you my opinion anyway: 1. carbon black 2. silver grey 3. titanium silver
Carbon black is my number 1.
Why?
It's not a coincidence that BMW only offers this color as part of the M-Sports package or the 'Individual' package (at least here in Belgium).
Why I also like it, is because it makes the wheels really stand out, because of the big contrast between the silver (or chrome) wheel with the black body of the car.
Black imo also looks less conservative and a bit more aggressive than eg silver.
If you go for the M-Sports package, you are already going for a more aggressive look to the car. So...
But I am sure these point will be argued by many. This is just my 2 cents.
I am waiting for a carbon black E60 myself with 128 wheels (week 17)...so I am prejudiced!
Take a look at the pictures of Nashville's new car ( http://forums.e60.net/index.php?showtopic=9080&hl=) , and add the M-Sports package to it. That's how I personally like the E60 best.
One last thing, I would never go for black if I would not totally enjoy giving my car a good clean.

So, in fact your cat thinks your car is black!
Just joking (although there is some thruth in what I said)!
