I am not really familiar with the 6 series sport button thats on the center console, but I have heard it lets the engine rev higher and increases the agility of the engine. Could this same function be implemented into a e60 somehow?

The e60s with SMG already has this feature. It's the SPORT button.

Dynamic Drive Control with SMG. DDC is activated by press the SPORT button on the center console.

I am not certain of this since I never drove an SMG 5 or 6, but I am pretty sure it has the same effect as when you put the Steptronic in DS or M mode.
