Guys, I bought a 530i M Sport here in the UK from a main dealer (used with 5000 miles) and he told me it has an Aux input to connect an MP3 player. I went, test drove the car and loved it - except it did not have the Aux input.
The dealer appologised for the mistake, and as a gesture of goodwill said that if I am interested in the car, I can have it with the price we agreed on the phone and he'll retrofit the Aux input free of charge.
Is it possible?
Thanks

That's a good dealer to do that as well.
Enjoy the ride.

Hi,
How much would I be looking at for this to be fitted in the UK?
Thanks in advance
Marc

Yes, it is. I had an Aux input added to my car when I bought it used. I made it a condition of sale. It's not a big deal to do either.
Does the retrofit give you similar IDrive integration using a CIP upgrade?

AUX In, after instalaltion will require activation from within Progman.
Depending upon the software level, an update may not be required.

I am floored right now. I got a quote from my sales guy that said it would be $208 including the part. However, I thought it was silly that it cost $120 just to activate the stupid thing. So, I called back in to schedule an appointment - but I told them I just needed activation because I was going to install it myself (hidden rather than in the glove box). He then quotes me $318 JUST for labor (2 hours).
Luckily - they are honoring my salesman's quote on it for $208 which includes the part/installation/activation.
Is this standard for what you have seen? Is there a way to activate this thing on my own? Should they really be charging 2 hours labor for activation?
(Don't flame on me - I know it's a $55k car and yes, I am complaining about $120 in installation. The fact is, the reason I can afford nice cars is I don't pay for BS costs.)
