Corvette Vs 550 guess what happened...

First my disclaimer. I don't condone street racing. I've grown out of it, for the most part. But occasionally if it is just a one on one and no traffic I will play a little. Calculated risk..
So here I am, 500 miles on my baby and no playing with any other cars yet.. So I was a bit thirsty... when I happen to hit a red light with this guy that I see hanging around with someone at my office building that I do talk to.
He's driving a black 05' vette 6 speed manual. He doesn't know it's me in the car, that I know.. We're on a 50mph road that's straight for about 2 miles so there was plenty of space to run.
I turn off DTC, launch on green.. and he DOESN'T GO! UGHH! He had the 'look' on his face while we waited.. So after I notice him sleeping on green and hit about 35, he wakes up
and I see him on it and my tail. Now I let the lady rip again and he 'optimistically' swerves back into the right lane about 100 feet behind me to pass.. PASS .. PASS... not this time...
The battle was tight from here on out. But by the time we hit 110, which wasn't very long, he hadn't gained an inch. So did I kill him? Naw, it wasn't a fair run.. But it was nice for my first time.
If he can drive well, that car specs out about .4-.5 quicker 0-60 and 1/4 mile overall.. so that doesn't leave much room for error.
I just in heaven in my baby.. Because when it was over I went back to my serene ride and comfy seats.
And here is the best part of the story. As we were going at it we were passing right by my BMW dealer. I sure hope
someone was enjoying the show.
