I was told it was removed because of the trouble it caused the service people. As we all know, temps go up and down depending on driving conditions, use of air conditioning, outside temps, etc. Too many people were not understanding that a temp gauge rises and falls depending on those circumstances and SA's and mechanics were spending too much time explaining this to the proverbial gray haired driver who thought something was wrong with their car when actually it was performing as the computer told it to. So, to eliminate this unnecessary trips to the SA and spending time on nothing, it was omitted. That is my lie and I'll tell it anyway I want. Actually, I read that in a magazine.
