So it's been 5k miles since my engine rebuild and after a drive to DE and back yesterday I come outside to start my car and I get the msg. I check the tank and it's empty! There's no sign of coolant under the car and there hasn't been either, I've read abt the coolant leak that can occur from behind the tranny? Would that show if it was the case? All hoses are fine, tank is fine. Anyone care to chime in? Thanks

If the tank goes bad what abt it goes bad? Just another question, is it possible the coolant wasn't mixed right? Maybe too much water? When I opened the top and the fluid shot out because of it being do hot, it looked like mostly water not even coolant

May be a quick coolant flush and refill with OEM fluid mixed with distilled water, then keep an eye out on it to see if there is any leak right after the change. Coolant can evaporate really fast so you might not be able see it. I doubt your car only has water though because if it's just water, it would have over heated after a long trip.

I filled it this morning, def gonna keep an eye on it, the shop used OEM coolant. I've always been under the impression you should NEVER have to top off coolant unless there's a leak

I've owned my V-8 for 2 years and only have to top it off once until recently when I did the flush but you're correct, shouldn't have to top it off (often) unless there is a leak somewhere.
