I'm on my 2nd E60 which I love, except it has one very annoying creak. Every time I put my elbow on the armrest/console (the part that opens for the iPod/change holder), it makes a constant creaking noise. It sounds like the console lid is rubbing against the black plastic container inside, causing a plastic on plastic sound.

My last E60 never did this. I took it into the dealer, and he said the only way to get rid of the sound is to replace the entire console. Has anyone else had this sound, and is there any way to just tighten something so it doesnt squeak?

I wish there was a place to spray it... but the hinges are all plastic, so I can't really see anywhere that could be lubed

Go to a craft store and buy some adhesive backed felt - it comes 12" x 12" sheets and in several colors including black ... I'd try to locate the exact spots under the lid of the console where the plastic is rubbing ... cut a couple of small patches of the felt and stick on the side that is hidden. That should reduce or solve the squeeking problem.
