Considering purchase of a 2008 535i which was previously a loaner. Has been in service for 9 months and has 10K miles.

With a conservative estimate of 200mi per loan, that makes 50 different drivers. Options: Premium pkg., sports pkg., heated seats, PDC, folding seats and I think rear sunshade. Asking price 41,750.

I plan to keep this car until the wheels fall off, which I am afraid may be sooner wrather than latter since it's been part of the loaner fleet. (Who loans out 535's anyway?!?)

Have not seen the car in person since it is quite a distance away, but from the pictures it looks to be in good shape.

Any thoughts or previous experience purchasing loaners would be appreciated. :(

Regards - CJ

for me, its not the best price nor the worst price.. i guess you need to work with the dealer on the price a bit more !

and also, my car was a previous loaner, but as long as it is under warranty, and you take a good look at the car ( scratch etc. get them fixed at dealer's expense) it is just the same as buying a used car.

and i guess the 535i loaner are probably for those customer who bought 7 series, my dealership worked that way, if you bought a 5s there, you probably get a 3 series sometimes 5 series as loaner, if you bought a 7 series, you mostly got 5 series or x5 as loaner

How do you drive loaners or rental cars? I wouldn't touch it. 2 cents.

+1. I'm pretty tame with them, but the stories I hear from friends -- oh the horror :o

If you can work the price lower and have them add in the extended warranty then I would do it.

You did say "any" thoughts, so here's mine:

At least you will know the rev-limiter has received extensive testing, and functions correctly.

:D
