Check out this thread one of the members here stated it was the BST cable on his car. My link, at least for me I'm going to have the dealership investigate exactly what the problem is and attempt to have BMW NA replace under the recall that they had for this problem Here --> Recall info for passenger seat mat sensor

So, minor status update...
This came up again yesterday.
Already having an idea of what to do, I plug my laptop in, fire up INPA, and clear the error memory..... but the codes are still there. I clear again, still there. I repeated numerous times throughout the day.
Today I decided to unplug the battery, wait a bit, plug it back in. Codes were still there - cleared them yet another time, and this time they disappeared! I guess you have to remove power completely, then clear the codes for it to truly clear properly.
Not sure if it's coincidence... but last time I got this error it was on a very very hot morning. Sun was shining directly on the car, inside was scorching hot, steering wheel and seats almost untouchable. Yesterday morning when the code came up again... same conditions. I'm not sure if it's related, but it's definitely something curious. It could be a wire or sensor that's almost loose and expands a bit too much in the high heat and breaks the circuit temporarily.
