Crack up Upper Timing Chain
First, I can confirm that it is possible to access the upper timing chain bottom bolt on a 2004 545i with active steering. Photo attached.

As stated in other threads:
  1. Lossen Serpentine Belt
  2. Remove top bolt
  3. Loosen bottom and slide to right.

Upon removing the gasket, I noticed what seems like a crack, and not sure if it is significant. If not, do I simply apply a little gasket sealant over it?

Thanks
