My non bmw mechanic replaced my wet and corroded MPM. Car still funny/not right. Mechanic said bring it to dealer who's computer will find problems.
SA says to me that the MPM should have been programed (or is it that the car is programed to the mpm? no matter). Is that right? Replacing mpm needs a 2.5 program job too?
Thanks.

I've never had to do it but did read about it here:
https://5series.net/forums/topic/957...__pid__1134477
If the module has charred the wiring harness it would take some time to replace/repair
that. No programming just for the MPM should be needed.

My MPM has gone haywire but after removing it and inspecting wheel well area it is bone dry. The PCB inside the outer case looks brand new and no sign of any corrosion at all.
Is there any way to test it? I have tried another used module which is also just as faulty and the pins look corroded on that one which probably means it has been wet at some time.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.

MPM (micro power module) is 100% plug and play. there is no programming required. working MPMs can be had on ebay for $100 or less.
jackaroo, I don't know if there is any way to test it. I'm sure there is, I'm just not aware of it.
Good luck.
