ED 2007 550i 6-speed (sapphire black/black dakota leather): sports package; active stearing, hud/nav, logic 7, cold weather package, rear heated seats, rear folding seat, power shades, comfort access, sat radio
Did you get comfort seats or sports seats? For my ED '06 550, I've asked my dealer to prepare an e60 with sports seats and one with comfort seats so I can compare them. He replied that "people rarely upgrade to the comfort seats"... and that consequently it would be hard for me to demo the comfort seats upgrad. Did you upgrade to comfort seats?

It may be true that fewer people order comfort than sport.....
But those who get comfort never regret it.
I love mine. Super-comfortable.... and the headrests just plain look better.

It?s a matter of price and weight too. Comfort seats = aprox 20 kg more x 2
My last car was a 330i (E46) with the Sports Package. I liked the sports seats, especially when checking the limits of the Sports suspension.
They were not, for me at least, comfortable for long drives however. I ordered my E60 without the sports package, and with comfort seats. I won't go back.

I have the sport seats and now wish I had gotten the comfort seats. For some reason, the comfort seats look sportier than the sport seats!?! Maybe it's because of the headreast. Don't get me wrong, the sport seats are VERY comfy (much more comfortable than my 2000 5 series with sport seats).
Comfort seats are very, very comfortable. 10x more comfortable than the S Class seats they replaced! Belive it or not... I did not feel tired at all after 300 miles of straight driving.
My ass started to hurt with the S Class seats on the 300 mile journey to pick up the 545.
There's a reason BMW is charging a premium for these seats! And they're worth it IMHO. I'll never get another beemer w/o them.

I got the sport seats on my 2005 545i. I thought the comfort seats looked ugly comparted to the sport seats. Now I wish I got the comfort seats. The sports are very good for aggresive driving but I find them quite confining, although not uncomfortable-- they really hold you in place. If you are fat I would think they would be uncomfortable.
I also find it hard to egress/exit and enter the vehicle with the sport seats, you kind of have to twist your body to get in and out over the lateral bolsters.
Ironically I also found it akward to get in/out of my 325i with the standard seats-- I've found BMW sedans in general have an akward entry/exit position for the driver.
