found a big disadvantage this weekend with my friends cadillac
he wanted to show me the new STS - gave me the keys and told me to put in my pocket - which I did
Then got into his car - started it - drove it around - then left it running for him and got into my bimmer and went home
got a call an hour later from a bar - he was stuck outside of his car - with the alarm going off - and I had his keys at home in my pocket
had to drive to the bar at 2am to give him the keys

But your friend made a mistake of giving you a key for the test drive, he could've kept the keys in his pocket and let you drive if he have the keyless go option. That's what the salesman did when I test drive a GS300.

I did that when I valet parked with my parents 325i comfort access.
Got out and had the key in my pocket.
The valet had to come inside and find me, to move the car.

The main disadvantage of Comfort Access as I see it...The $1,000 to get it. I can press a button to get in my car. Not getting this, covers half of my Night Vision option.

Agree. For $1000 bucks, it's hard for me to pay for this option. I'll pass it this time and I think my next car should have keyless entry as standard. ![Shifty](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/shifty.gif)

Their pricing for certain options across lines is contra-intuitive at best.
Im not spending $1000 when I know I could get a cheaper car and pay only $500 for it. I hate seeing pure markup. Makes my stomach churn.

As I rush to the car with hands full of grocery bags etc and rain coming down, I like comfort access. Chicks also think it is cool, too.

the car i purchased came with the c/a but to be honest now that i have it i dont think ill get a car without it in the future. I agree the price is steep but the lazy person in me really loves it. Its also very cool you dont have to fumble to get the keys out.( really easy for my wife since she takes forever to find her keys out of her purse)
The big downside is that if my wife is waiting for me in the car at night while im in the store anyone could just walk up and touch the door handle to get in.
