My Ride: 2004 545i 6 spd Sports Package | NAV | PDC | Logic 7 | BT retrofit | SW V13.3
Just browsing the 550i brochure and was curious about these features.
Keyless entry with multi-function remote control is standard
Comfort Access keyless entry with multi-function remote control is optional
Does the start/stop ignition button come standard or is it a feature of the comfort access?
It also should open the doors, and take care of your personal (key) settings when you get close to the car.

I would say it unlocks the door rather than open the door.
Well, not sure...

It unlocks the door when you put your hand inbetween the handle and the door, sothat whn you pull the handle the door is unlocked
Yep--it's a rip-off. I had keyless go on my E55 (also ~ $1,000) and wouldn't pay more than a few hundred $ for it.
