If you look back, it was about 14 years on the E39....No telling what the planned obsolencence would be on this model....

Current expectations are that a new style 5 series will be introduced in 2010 as a model year 2011.
What is interesting to think about is that the first design sketches of a new 5 series already extist. And sometime in 2006 all of the vehicle specifications (dimensions, performance, etc...) will be settled and a physical shell of the car will be shaped.

My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
