Where's the anthracite headliner? Should I be able to see it in your pics?

You can perhaps see it a bit better in this pic.
It is however, more black than it appears in the photo.

I'm really curious to hear from owners if the auburn changes color over time-- does it darken, lighten, turn more brown and less red??

I agree that pix don't do Auburn interiors justice.

Auburn to me is really BMW code for "orange". If anything I think Auburn will darken over time, just from the dirt/sweat/residue effect.

Kastanien Braun - is Chestnut Brown my /*/*/ is orange!!!

Go for black and auburn it will not become darker and I clean it every months.

I think you are right...that interior color is growing in me. But too late to do anything about it right now.

Sorry to hear you decided against the Black Sapphire Metallic. That's what I chose with the Auburn interior, and I think it's very sharp. I wanted something dirrerent besides black interior and the Auburn is the only interior where you get the two-tone effect, all others have the console and doors matching the seats. I think the black/brown combo is very rich. Good luck !

My Ride: ActiveHybrid - fully tricked out

I have the auburn interior with orient blue. I really like it and I get a lot of good feedback about it from friends.

An interesting story about my local (Toronto) dealer - I bought my used 2004 530i in late August. I first noticed the car on a dealers website who is a 5 hour drive away. I called my local dealer to tell them about it. When he heard that the interior was auburn there was a pause and then he say "maybe you should drop by here first to check that out before you drive 5 hours to look at it". He admitted that he wasn't sure he recalled the colour that well. I think he was worried it was solid auburn in the entire interior.

He dug out a car from their stock and we check it out. Even he was pleasantly surprised by how nice it is.

Cheers.
