My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets. First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
Question

This week, we got our first (this year) taste of zero-F weather and both my steering and hydraulic suspension cornering alarms went off. The steering reset upon shutdown and restart, but the anti-roll warning persisted afterward. I called my SA and he said it was the weather, lots of calls--wished he could say more, but that was it.

My gripe is that this did NOT occur over the past two winters, so it must be heightened sensitivity through progman updates.

How have your chilly mornings been?

I had the same problem when the first cold weather hit here... I checked the hydraulic reservoir, and it was just at the minimum - I think the "shrinkage" of the fluid when cold took it to the point that the system though it was leaking. I bought a liter of the special hydraulic fluid, added a little to the reservoir, and have not had a problemn since. (This was also my third winter - can't explain that...) Good luck!
