CLS ... only if it drives like a BMW ... AND came with a shift knob engraved with 1-2-3-4-5-6-R. Obviously that'll never happen, haha.

The CLS is a very nice smooth driver; the power comes on very strong. As for econometrics the Benz is equally complicated as is an i-drive BMW.
What I disliked most was the claustrophobic feeling once inside, the way too low roof-line, and resultant poor outward visibility.

if it was for me, this is how I make the choice (when money in not an issue):
Want a coupe with Luxury and Performance --> 650 or M6
Want a coupe with sports look and Performance --> Carrera S or Turbo
Want a sedan with Luxury/Handling/Performance --> 550 or M5
Want a sedan with Luxury/Comfort/Performance --> E500 (550 in the states) or E63
To be honest, if money is not an issue I would get all of them
..... you can still go for the CLS if you want
