Unhappy

Hey everyone..

I just got my '06 530i detailed and now when i lock the car..no conformation signal beeps (as it is set to) and the clown nose flashes continuously for about 10 seconds then just continues to blink regularly.

When I unlock it the conformation tone beeps regularly.

I checked all doors/hood/trunk to see if they are ajar and they are not.

Any suggestions or help?

Thank you.

When they did the detail, did they happen to steam clean the engine (or power wash anything under the hood?)

To me, it sounds like something got wet that shouldn't have. It's possible that things will work again once it dries out but it's also possible that operating things while wet may have caused damage to some module, etc.

Keep your fingers crossed -- if things don't work out, maybe the detailer is reputable enough to carry insurance?

Thats what I was thinking...while they were detailing the rear lights were somewhat going crazy..

I'll check it in the morning when the car has gone into sleep mode...hopefully it will work.

Thankyou for the quick responses. ;]

What is a "Clown Nose"?

I think the Forum could use a glossary for those of us who haven't been around so long.

I believe the clown nose is the red bulb under the rear view mirror.

I have the exact same problem and I didn't get my car washed,(detailed), Everything checks out through the I Drive but it still doesn't work. Called the dealer JMK BMW and they said it has to be reprogramed. Got a appointment for the 29th of Nov. At the same time they are going to upgrade the software to correct to passenger air bag problem.
cheers

Ok,
i finally got to bring the car to the dealer, and as it turns out it was the hood switch that was causing all of the mistake alarms. A common problem I hear on the E60's.

Just wanted to update you guys.
