Thumbs up

The other day I thought I saw a red light under the fan knob, but then it was off/not lit and it would not come on (not even with the headlights on or off). So lately, this light has been on all the time? Even with the Climate setting off, on cool nights, and hot days. Anyone know what this light is? Have you seen it on?

Sorry it's so blurry. Got the camera too close, but the point is to show you where this light is.

Thanks all...

Its the light to show the independant ventilation setting is on, Go to climate in the idrive, go to independent ventilation and use the direct setting, it will light up for you!

(took me 3 months to realise this!)

Thanks, Doctor D! That explains it. I just recently activated the Parked Car Ventilation.

The light will illuminate when the parked car ventilation is currently active or if one or both of the timers are set to ventilate the car at a future time...

I had an '03 Mercedes E55, and one of the coolest options was the panorama roof (full glass roof) with solar panels that charged a battery, which powered interior venting that turned on automatically if the interior temp got above a certain threshold. Even on the hottest summer day, you returned to a car that wasn't baking hot. And the solar panels on the roof looked very cool!
