Just saw this on ebay and was wondering is anybody elses broken like this.Mine broke like this in the same exact spot, and cracked the same exact way while I was driving it just fell off without touching it. Looks bad in the car. I was pissed hwen this happened, shows the quality of the parts on the car are made out of cheap materials.

Yeah, my off button is cracked all the way across... Is this covered under warranty?

YUP same thing happened to me. broke in the same spot as the above pic. did not even know when it happened it just fell apart, noticed it the next morning. had it replaced under warranty. The CA told me ordinarily it would have costed me $1000 in parts & labor. (not a typo)cuz they have to replace the whole panel (the on/off knob, temp knobs, auto climate etc). All i know is wear gloves while handling the damn knobs.

Also i have come across a thread stating this has been an ongoing issue w/ quite a few examples of the knob just breaking off out of the blue. unfortunately i don't recall if i saw the thread on this site or another one.

yes, same thing happened in mine. it's clearly defective but dealer has to replace the entire module. had mine replaced under warranty but dealer had to state different reason because bmw can deny warranty due to user's neglect.
