I know that on the net (p2p) there are some version of CIP .

Where I can find it ?

Anyone here has it ?


I need the SW of the SMG and It could be contained in the CIP .

The CIP software is not available anywhere. You can't even buy it.
Only dealers get CD's with relevant CIP updates, the original software for the computers stays at the factory.

So when they reprogram the CIP do they need to be on line to the factory? I've always wondered why a simple software upgrade takes 7 hours.

You can afford $100K for E60, so 1/5 of that won't be much, will it?

No, your car gets the software at the factory. The dealer gets CD's with updates only. They don't need to be online.
An update can even take longer, since very often something goes wrong and they have to start over. And the more gadgets you have, the longer it can take.
