Unhappy

Hi, I need help from you guys!

My CIP number is I-05-09-500_050331 and I'm going to BMW service to change the oil next week, should I tell them to update the CIP software? My car is a e61 530d from 06/2004 and everything is working allright apart from bluetooth ( it only recognizes the motorola profissional phone that came with it), no mp3 and fuel consumption is 9.2lts/100kms average! What is your opinion please?

Rgds

Daniel

First of all: NEVER touch a running system!

Besides: Even your BT is working correctly!
If you have the Phone Professional, that is NOT the same with the BT option. Yes, it uses BT, but the Phone is built-in, the phone you have in the middle under the the armrest is just a "free speech HEADSET" (technically). So, if you're trying to pair a phone with the car, you are trying to pair a phone with a phone, not a device with a phone. Therefore, you can't paitr any phones with it, only headsets, such as the phone in your middle console under the armrest.

Iceman is right, but given the build date, can't they disconnect the built-in phone and activate the BT through the software update?

Thanks Iceman, but is that possible that the update would allow me to use an ipod and another mobile phone?

They'd need to take the phone pro out and install the CCC with BT.

It is extremely expensive.

Thanks Iceman, about the ipod, I think I will install it, about the phone, no way, I will use my sim magic with 8 clone numbers on it!
