My Ride: '04 530d Executive, all options except sunroof and comfort seats ECU remapped by ZipTuning to 260+bhp.
Default

I found that keeping it pushed in on the end instead of just pushing it helps.
However, if you've got Nav-Pro, you won't see the version. Just a menu with info on all computers in the car. (Like C-ASK, C-Applik, etc...)
I don't know what you can do with the info provided, but there's no CIP version to be found.

So no way to know which CIP I have?
Nor the dealer with their computers could?

They should be able to find it with their diagnostic computers.
