I've seen several posts mentioning that CIP version 15.x is not being installed by certaing dealers because of bugs. But I haven't seen a list or mention of any bugs pertaining to 15. I'm running 15.0 and haven't seen any issues so far. What should I look for? Is there "truth" to this, or a bunch of nonsense or rather uncertainty? The only thing I've seen mentioned is that RDS doesn't work with Nav equipped cars still. But that seems like an old bug that didn't get fixed, not a new bug introduced by 15. Anyone?

I don't think they are as much bugs for the driver and the car as much as a sensitive patch that makes it tougher for them to install. They had the same issue with 13.3 until the dealers figured out what they were doing and stopped crashing CCCs. Once successfully installed you are good to go.

I see. That's good news - for me at least My car came with 15.0 on all but one module that was updated (the EGS - STEPTRONIC). So I guess I'm safe.

Apparently my car was updated to V15 though it doesn't show anywhere on the invoice what version they installed, just that they installed software.

I got the car back yesterday and don't really notice much difference though I haven't driven it much since. The acceleration lag seems to be gone - the i-drive screen seems to come on extremely quickly (I note that their response to my complaint that it sometimes took several seconds was "normal in cold weather") - RDS is working (no NAV).

They replaced a bunch of modules and parts in response to some of my other "complaints" including the drivers side window winder, the steering wheel positioning module, one of the cup holders and the radio. This was quite surprising to me since I thought many of those things I had seen occasionaly would clear up with the software U/G. I would have to say it is "good service".

I think one bug with V15 is, at least in a CCC car, the Radio / CD turns on (disables mute) every time you start the car.

With 13.3 and earlier versions, the mute position was saved.

Not for me. I have had this problem since I took delivery in July in Germany. I have no ide what SW version I had then, but it was updated at the port to some 12x, then V13.2 and now V13.3. I have always had the music come on.

My ride was updated in July/04. After stating in previous posts that I the "lag" was gone, it seemed to "return" since my wife was doing most of the driving recently. I've been driving it the last couple of days and flooring it just about every chance I get. It seems to have "learned" that I want instant response and is giving me almost instant response. So much so that it surprised me while driving just awhile ago.

So anyone with the "lag", maybe you can test my observation and let me know if the lag goes away.
Thanks,
Jimbo

A CCC car is the one has Navigation System in US or Pro Navigation System in Europe.

DXXXi,
I would assume that NAV is the same for all North American cars. Mine has it and also has all Canadian roadways.

I also have the lag with my 530 steptronic when in D mode, but when I got to DS mode, It is normal with no lag.

It would be great to get that lag out of there, it can be annoying or even problematic when trying to get out of the way of another car, and you feel like your car is waiting to go.
