I'm thinking of taking my 530xi in for service soon just for an out of cycle oil change. Was going to get the new CIP to make the high battery drain false report go away. Should I hold off on the 19.x ?

I hope it comes to the US real soon.

I just got an e-mail from my SA that they fixed Blutooth after V 19.1(?) broke it but the NAV Lady won't be speaking until March of 2006 (maybe)!
I thought it was 19.02.? that broke BT. BT is fine in my 19.01.01. And, I think my NAV is a male. And, I am positive that my voice-command voice is a seriously retarded man. At least, he frequently can't understand properly spoken "American" English.
I think you're right. It probably is 19.02 (or is it 19.01.02... whatever ).
What is broken is not the Voice Command part (actually maybe it is, I don't think I've used it since the upgrade) but more specifically it is the Spoken Voice Directions when NAV is active. Instead of hearing the verbal direction (you know "Prepare To Go Straight") I just get a spine-chilling static "pop". It's great fun.

I think it was 19.02.03. Right, I am thinking that my NAV voice is a man.

what is this voice command for switching between media sources?! If I'm on cd and try to voice to radio it tells me "Function is not currently available". I don't have NAV...seems like NAV adds a lot of voice commands. is that why?

Picked my car up from the Service Dept at MotorWerksBMW in Bloomington, MN. Service advisor told me that BMW wants to put CIP 20 on my car due to a driveability issue when the engine is cold. (Kind of jerky around 1000 -1500 rpm.) Anyway they said they don't expect to see CIP 20 until after Christmas. He said it will hopefully fix several driveability issues BMW has been working on.

Iceman = Source of Information

some times even I don't think asking my dealer ... asking Iceman or Rudy and others is faster and information is accurate

I just got my car back from a service where I had complained about a few odds and ends and I have been told to bring the car back in Jan for an upgrade to CIP 20.

Has anyone got any info on what features will be added (as in good things and not bugs :thumbsdown: )?

I may have missed it, but I cannot find a list here - is that because the details are still under embargo?

Thanks!

I am checking at least twice a day for any CIP 20 release data as I am sure so too is ICEMAN, E60Speed and any others with some "inside" access. Anyone on this forum with this kind of info will provide it as soon as they can and so far it is conjecture (although pretty reliable) at least in the case of the MP3. Remember though, this too has moved out a couple of times so it is not firmly under control yet. As far as other fixes we just have to wait for the release notes. Enhancements on the other hand have less exposure and generally rely on our members to ferret out on their own, be it first hand experience or BMW "slip of the tongue"
