The cig lighter under my glovebox and the one in the ashtray by the shifter both do not work. I checked all fuses, and they are fine. i verified that both sockets were dead with my cell charger cord and then with a multi meter.
Any ideas what could be wrong? Do these have to be "coded" on for some reason? The ones in the back seat work just fine.

Thanks

Are you sure the fuses are fine? Try replacing with a spare and re-check.

They visually looked fine, but I did not check for continuity across each.
Do you know which fuse the cig lighters are on? The little diagram in the trunk wasn't much help, so I had to pull and check (visually) each one and I'd rather not do it again.

Thanks

I was told by my indy mechanic that the fuse for the lighters (10 Amp) is not enough for the charging of cell phones, iPods, etc. He swapped it out for a 30 Amp fuse and I've been fine ever since. Even if it looks okay, if you can swap it for a 30 amp fuse.

not on my car; my diagram is a bunch of pictograms that are impossible to decipher.
is that diagram from an 08 535? my trunk fuse arrangement is way different than what is shown above.

Sorry, I deleted the fuse chart during the repost edit. Check the 20 Amp fuses # 61 and 82 located in the luggage compartment.
