Chrome Window Trim

The chrome trim on my driver and passenger door keeps coming unglued at the aft edge (above door handle). They have been replaced once already, its really starting to irritate me. Anyone else have this problem? Any fix? You know the drill, call service, bring it in, they order it, then another trip to put it on!

I took mine in and got it fixed during a oil change and they ended up scratching the B piller covers. Looks like when the trim came up it made contact with the B-piller cover and left scratches. I applied wax there and it seemed to cover up most of the scratches...

i have the black one and i am noticing the same on the passenger side. When I took the car to the dealer, for my DSC problem, I told them about it but maybe they forgot

My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
Mine keeps sticking up about 2 mm on the right hand side.
The problem is a minor one, so I have not complained about it, yet!

It happened to me too. I took it in and they replaced the bottom front trim on the passenger and driver side. Happened again and it scratched the black part part above the trim when I was opening the window. They replaced that too. My SA said that this happens a lot. Make sure that you speak to a service advisor and not just the scheduler so they can order the new part before your appointment.

I kinda like my Chrome Trim. BMW must like it because on all of the 3er coupes and high-end 3er sedans have chrome trim standard (premium / sport or not). The black trim is cool too (have it on my SP X5), but it does not bring out the lines; especially the coupe-like lines and hofmeister kink of the E60. It kinda looks standard. Just IMO.
P.S. Does anyones driver door stick out about 2 cm's when the door is closed and is not flush with the rest of the body???

I also think the chrome looks nice or I would not have bought the car. Black with the sport pkg looks good too. I think when a forum member is having an issue with their car maybe we shoud try to help them solve their problem...........maybe we can move that post to the "chrome is gay forum"...

Its not just Chrome that has a problem of sticking out. i have the sports package and mines black and it popped out...
