My Ride: '04 545iS 6 spd, bought new via eBay, 11/05; Blk/Gry, Cold, L7, PDC, BMW Rear seatcover for pets.
First "Bumwa" was a new 1971 2002. High performance 5s since 1987. Beamer motorcycles too, currently on an 07 BMW K1200 GT; also a Moto Guzzi 1000 SP III.
Hi All,
I tried to search this, but given the variety of terms applicable, came up with nothing pertinent.
The short way to describe it is "balking while on choke," especially given the standard transmission clutching. My concern is leaving work, in cold weather, and having to do a hard right turn at slow speed, (right on red) and then accelerate quickly into the highway traffic lane. It hasn't stalled yet, but the balking and bucking in gear makes me wonder when it will.
Has anyone else had this? I can feel the accelerator move, but it is functionally dead for the first bit of travel, owning to the choke/high idle. While my E39 had the same, I was more able to accelerate past this dead spot smoothly.
This makes me feel like I am learning to drive a stick all over again, and I'll bet it's the numbness of the accelerator pedal that is throwing me off, but wanted to enquire.
Cheers,
Ray Hull

Would this be relevant?
The following software errors were corrected with the release of Progman 20.00.00 (Target data Status E060-05-12-500).
Poor Idle quality after a cold start. N62TU engine.
Engine juddering/idle speed surging when it is cold. N52 engine.
Engine pinging under light load. N62TU engine.
After programming the CID (Central Information Display) using Progman V19.x, the CID is blank and fault "A469 Internal Electronics Failure" is stored. Progman 20.00.00 prevents this programming failure. If the fault already exists the CID needs to be replaced.
