Hello guys. So I was replacing my rear brake pads yesterday with my personal mechanic, we had a very hard time taking the wheels off, so we used a happier to pound the tire a bit til it came off. During that time my mechanic missed the tire and hit the inner wheel causing approx 6cm of chipped paint! fML. Anyway, just want to know if there is anyway to cover this with some sort of primer or clear coat as it is noticeable to me. I know it's in the inner part but it is killing me right now, knowing that I have a stone chip type of peel and would like to cover it up with something. Style 167 wheels. So anything gray w clear oat can work for me. I need something that can bond with the allow.
My question : can leaving the chip unattended cause rust?

Look into some type of touch up paint for the wheel as a start. I could't really see how much damage was done to the wheel. Or if it bother you that much have it professionaly done.
Use a rubber mallet to hit the tire. Much less chance of marring the wheel.
Clean your wheel hubs and apply anti-seize compound to them to avoid the rust (having to use a hammer).
