LOL, thats kinda funny. I dont seem to have an issue with my trunk yet but I guess because I naver realy tried to insert the key into the trunk. I always use the key fob button or the button inside the car. whatever it is, I hope your chin stays clear of the karate chop from the 5.

You can actually adjust the spring tension for the trunk. If you remove the left side of the carpet panel, you will see a big spring and a row of notches that the spring hooks onto. If you move the spring hook towards the front of the car, the tension of the spring will be less so the trunk will come up slower, move it back the tension would be greater and it will come up faster. Hope this helps.

Just a pair of pliers to pull the spring hook into position and a flat head screwdriver to get the tabs that holds the carpet panel out.
