Checking Oil

And for a 2004 530 your dip stick should come out... nothing special. Try pulling it in the morning with a cold engine just to loosen it up first... then after you get to work or whever you go... let the car sit for 15 mins or so... then go check the oil... Hopefully you can pull it out. AND those of you who are laughing right now get your minds out of the gutter!

Oh, and one other thing. The dipstick is really long and you have to kind of corkscrew it back in as well. Make sure it is completely all the way down. I thought I had mine in all the way when I checked while stopping to fill up my gas tank once, then checked it a couple of days later when I was detailing the car and noticed it was sticking up about 1/8" or 1/4" and was afraid contaminants had gotten in. You have to wiggle it back and forth a bit to make sure it's seated. Welcome aboard.
