check engine light on 535i 2008

I was having the same issue and it ended up being carbon buildup. Had the dealer walnut blast the intake and problem went away. Had around 60k on my car when this happened.

I went to stage 2+ fmic today and had a misfire in 4.. not sure what it is yet but getting shuddering when going wot then to limp :/ ... will figure it out tomorrow for sure

Check your coil by swapping it with another cyl since another post said you did plugs 10k ago.

Do the same to make sure it's the coil since you just replaced the plugs. If you still have a misfire on 5 make sure the plug is gapped correctly and torqued down properly. Unless the plug is covered in fuel then it is probably carbon build up.

Did the plugs but not coils.. ill def try this tomorrow

Sounds like carbon buildup to me. Right mileage for it and symptoms. Time for a Walnut Blasting !!! Good luck :-)

Same thing happened to me recently. Problem was the injectors. Those were replaced under warranty, all is well.
