Charging Battery
I just purchased a Noco Genius Battery charger for my 2007 E60 because I'm getting a battery alert and code U112B from the OBD reading.
(Lost Instrument Pack Status)
I've never done this before, so I thought it would be wise to ask someone here if its absolutely necessary to disconnect the positive and negative before charging.
Also I heard that I only need to connect the positive and put the negative somewhere else?
On the Noco charger there is a 12v hot / cold and 24 hot / cold charging setting on this charger.
Should the battery be charged at 12V?
HELP

You need to connect this to the positive and negative connection points under the hood and not to the battery itself. You can find these points in the owners manual under jump starting. This is 12V only. Do not use 24V.
