Admin, EXCILE the TRAITOR!
You will miss the higher quality interior on the BMW, Audis uses too much plastic/rubber on their interiors which makes the interior look very cheap

Don't do it!
I had the previous style A6 2.7T and really liked it, but passed on the new A6 as it has gone downhill in terms of style and interior quality. Driving the new A6 and 545i clinched the deal - it wasn't even close.

Have you driven the A6? As soon as I drove the e60 my decision was easy. The A6 is competent but just not a BMW. I can't comment on the tdi in comparison to yours since it doesn't come stateside. I also noted that other manufacturer have caught up to Audi's interiors, and was disappointed in the A6. On the plus for the A6, I judged the build quality superior to BMW.

I have a family member who has owned one BMW and driven many others. He now always buys Audi and loves them but he also admits to me that if it wasn't for the price he would be driving a BMW. I like the Audi, it seems there is more attention to detail on the inside but it's not quite the same drive as a BMW. In terms of quality the BMW will win out over the Audi. I remember driving his A6 and while it was nice it also felt more sedate in its drive.

No contest: BMW. I drove the A6 4.2 and had also the A6 2.7T and A4 1.8T before and then drove the 550I. OMG, what a difference and there was no doubt what's so ever in my mind that the 550i is the superior car in all aspects.

I tried the A6 3.0tdi S-Line Quattro over 2 days and thought it would be my net car, but then tried the 530d and it was a completely different level, made me realise just how boring Audis are to drive, which is a shame as I love the design and the image.
Then realised because of the shocking residuals on the Audi 3.0Tdi Q a 535d is actually ?200 a month cheaper too, and the 535d sport just trounces the 3.0tdi s-line in every department. So ended up with a 535d and DMS's it!
Don't get me wrong I love Audis and have had 7 over the last 5 years, but you can't compare the A6 with the 5 series, the 5 is a fun car to drive, the Audi is a motorway mile muncher, nothing more.
Even the new S6 with the V10 engine isn't that quick, 0-60mph in 5.4seconds, well my car does it in 5.5seconds, so hopefully Audi have got a few other thing right, like handling, ride quality, brakes and balance to justify the ?57k base price and the 14mpg that people are reporting.
The 3.0tdi feels really, really nose heavy, you can't go into a corner too fast at all as the car just doesn't want to stick to the road.
I will be interested in what you think, why not take out a 535d on the same day as well and report back?

You will be able to enjoy the sea smell! As the Audi A6 drives and handles like a boat. Horrific car, that will be worth nothing once driven out of the garage. But the salesman will say, "no way that was the last model this one is going to be different!"
I dont think so. Why not try the skoda superb. I think they are built on the same floorplan
