Hi guys.

My wife got her e60 on febuary 2004. The car has only 1900 miles should I change because its sitting most of the time. I start the car at least
once a week.

Does the dealer will change oil for free?(maintanance schedule)

Thanks for your time

What for??!! These synthetic oil is capable of handling much more miles. Do you toss away brand new motor oil just because it sits on the garage shelf too long??!! If that is the case we?d all be buying fresh oil instead of stock-up.

Yes, BMW dealer will change the oil for you under the scheduled maintenance (read: you don?t have to pay) on an annual basis no matter how little miles you drove.

Hope this helps,

dealer will only do free oil change when service indicator on car says oil change needed. Otherwise you pay for. I had my first done at 4,000 miles. The 12,000-15,000 that book says is just too long for me. I hope to keep this car a long time. If you've only leased it and will turn it back in 3 yrs from now, wouldn't worry about it.

Fellas, I should specify this (I made the assumpiton that everyone knows about the lights) ...
BMW Schedule maintenance provides oil change when your service lights goes out (Under normal driving, this is appx. once a year... but never mind about this for now..) If you for some don't drive you car a whole lot, they will change your oil on close proximaty of your service anniverssary.

There!! that's the real answer.

cheers,

beewang

The cost was about $80 US, including all taxes and disposal fees. As small investment as far as I am concerned.
