I think he might be talking about DRM encrypted WMA files. In that case there are some workarounds but its both illegal and hugely time consuming. I believe one application was called 'unf***' (yes that is un + naughty word) which could do it. However DRM encryption has upped the ante since that was made so i very much doubt your going to be able to do it.
If you have the DRM license then what i suggest you do is install a program called CDEX. Set your recording properties to stereo mix in the volume control and let cdex record the output from windows media player to an mp3 file...
its a pain in the ass but it will work.
alternatively if your just asking how to rip a cd to mp3 then its already been answered above

That is incorrect browellm. I seldom post without answering a question or contributing meaningfully--although sometimes I will simply make a brief joke like many do or say something of a personal nature to someone. Please note that on this thread I answered the poster's queston in post #2 assuming he really wasn't stealing encrypted CD's. Then, I made a silly joke like many of us do. Where is the crime? And, note that the poster never ask how to rip CD's and subsequently to make MP3's. Some have been answering questions not asked here. But, there is no crime there either.
