I listen to a lot of audio books on my CD player. Because the "chapters" for these can span 45 min +, fast forwarding through to an in between point can take a while. I've found that if I pause the CD and fast forward from the steering wheel or button adjacent to the CD slot it goes faster than if I fast forward while the CD is playing. But is there an even faster way to fast forward? I'm used to the fast forward speed accelerating as the fast forward button is depressed, but no such luck with the 5 series.

don't think so...i find irritating how it ff from the cd player. It takes ages. It skips 2-3 seconds at a time. I use the cd changer more though so ff there is not a problem.

Try holding the UP arrow on the right hand side of the steering wheel. Pressing once will advance to the next song, but I think if you press and hold it will fast forward...

But I very well could be wrong too, so don't get your hopes up that it will work!

On mine, as I recall, it sounds like FF, but actually it goes to the next song once letting off. I'll check again though.

Um, yes I am! I just tried it on my car and it does work that way. Hold down the arrow and the CD will FF or RR the track, both in the single CD and the 6 disc changer. I have ver 18.0 software and no NAV.

Same here. Steering wheel button depressed will fast forward. I could swear that the steering wheel button FF's at a quicker rate than on the dash. I'll try it later to confirm.

Nope. I was wrong. They both FF but both at the same 3 second interval.
The CD changer FF's much quicker (must have been what I was remembering).

The FF on the dash and steering wheel is too slow, I want something much faster than 3sec/sec ...

Most of us knew that? Ummm? Right...
who didn't know that raise an arm...

Really now it's always has been this way, the buttons used to change the track/radio station are also used to ff or r if hold down.
