CD changer probs
#1
Like other people who've had the same problem, my dealer is planning on taking out the changer and sending it off to get my discs out. In the meantime, I should get a new changer.
Apparently the new ones have the facility for a mechanical eject which should prevent this being such a hassle.
Anyhow, am I tied into using the BMW changer? Can you get an aftermarket changer to work with iDrive? In my old A4 cabriolet, I had a sony changer working with the Audi OEM headunit which was fab as I could use MP3 discs in the changer - seeing as it's looking like I won't be able to get MP3's to work via the front slot as I have the poor mans radio (if the flippin brochure had said Pro radio would give me MP3 later on, I'd have gone for it! GGgggrrrrr!)

You are stuck with the BMW one, since it connects to the MOST network that is fibre optic.
I thought all BMW changers can have the cartridge removed with the special eject tool dealers are supposed to have

I think the best bet now lies in hoping that the long awaited Dension MOST I-pod interface does actually get released for the E60.
BTW...also had the same problem with the stuck changer. I think my dealer kicked the unit somehow as eventually they were able to release it and it seems ok.
