Sure does, no problem,

Works a treat and people have burnt CDs for me and it reads and plays them.

there are some forum notes on how to burn them properly and get it working with titles and artist details appearing, so worth investigating this FORUM notes first before you jump in to buying the CD Changer.

Don't forget that you can't just plug the CD changer in and expect it to work ... you also need to have the iDrive software programmed so that it will recognise the drive. I've heard people saying that the programming costs somewhere around ?200-?300 depending on your dealer.

Are you SURE. My indash unit plays MP3s, but my changer does not. I have a 2006 530i. Am I doing something wrong?

Until we get someone that can confirm that they've played MP3 discs in the changer, I'm skeptical that this works.

As bhorne says, MP3s play in the in-dash slot but not the changer. There was supposed to be an updated changer that could play MP3s but I don't remember seeing anyone report that this works...

Well I've been meaning to try out my CD changer anyway, so will do my best to remember to burn an MP3 disc and try it out soon. I know that in a 2004 E60 it _didn't_ play them in the changer.

I have a 'business' nav with changer in the glovebox.

a dvd or a CD with mp3 tracks on it plays in the center console ONLY.

DVD-RW gave some trouble with unrecognised folders but that may be because its an RW.

list order logic is not yet clear to me, it puts its own numbers in front

arrow up/down on the steering wheel seems to work the other way round as compared to other i-drive items

in the changer only music Cd's work. Perhaps the second poster refers to MP3's burnt as music cd"s? Because that works fine. didn't try an RW here though.

Same here - MP3 works in single slot and DVD drive but not in the changer.

What's a CD Changer?

It's all about hooking up the iPod to the USB port and controlling it thru iDrive.

In the UK, we get something called the "Media Pack" which includes bluetooth, pro sat nav, voice recognition, 6-cd changer, etc If you add, individually, just the bluetooth, sat nav and voice recognition and leave out the CD changer, these options cost MORE than the media pack! So, it makes sense to order the media pack, save money, and get the free CD changer, even though I will never ever use it... !
