CCC upgrade to play MP3 discs?

Hey all I read on here on several posts that there's a possibility that the dealership can flash upgrade your CCC/stereo to play Mp3 discs? Is this true or just a myth, as I went to my local dealership and the SA said he never hear of it. Has anybody done this?
I have 2005 545i w/ Nav and HiFi stereo (sorry no Logic 7
) that I bought recently and if possible id love to listen to MP3 discs and save the money of putting in an ipod interface if possible.
Also if this upgrade is not possible does anyone know the best place (in the US) to buy the Ipod interface at a good price for a self install?

Do you know the production month/year of your car? Look on the sticker located on the door jamb (driver's side.)

Since your car was produced before October 2005, you'll need to have a retrofit procedure performed (and possibly a software upgrade, depending on your current version.)

My Ride: 2005 530i Individual, DVD Package, HUD, Bluetooth, Comfort Seats, SR, etc
I have a 02/2005 vehicle, NO Nav, done the MP3 retrofit, did not work, did iPod retrofit Ipod works instead of cd changer but no MP3 CD from single CD slot. My radio unit is Business Radio with BMW hifi.
