Default CCC E60 2004 prof Navi RAM modules

in my CCC the Samsung RAM fails, if the outside temperature is above 15 deg C.
i want to replace the SO SDRAM 144 pin, but I am not sure , what size I need .
Is is a 256 Mb or 128 Mb ? is 133 MHz okay ?

Do you have a picture of the SDRAM? Is it an module and not soldered to the board?

here is a pic of the SO SDRAM in the CCC proffesional E60 built 2004. it seems x 16 M X 16 166 MHz , so presumably 256 Mb

I can't quite make out the chip number. I think it says: K4S561632E

Here is the data sheet for that:
K4S561632E datasheet - Samsung semiconductor - 256Mb E-die SDRAM Specification 54pin sTSOP-II

That is a 256Mb (mega bit) chip organized as 16Mx16 at 166MHz. The memory technology is "DRAM" and not DDR, DDR2, etc.

Are there two more chips on the reverse? I think there are and that would make 4 chips of 16Mx16 for 128MB (mega bytes).

The module looks like a 144 pin SO-DIMM.

I don't think JEDEC ever defined a module speed greater than 133 (aka PC133). So, you won't likely find a module that is spec'ed as 166MHz. But, I'm guessing many PC133 modules were probably built with 166MHz chips.

yes , the chips are samsung K4S561632E-TI75
there are only 2 chips on the top of the ramboard , none on the bck side .
so it seems the SOSDRAM ( no DDR ) 144 pin is 64 Mbytes , right ?

Yes.

If you have some really old laptop laying around, it might have this in it. Or maybe you have a friend that is the local computer fixit person - they may have this in a parts box. I'm sure you can get this off eBay also. Used price for 64MB PC133 SO-DIMM should be less than $20.
