"CARBON BLACK" MORE LIKE "MIDNIGHT BLUE"
#11
Carbonschwarz is a very nice & original colour. I can't stop turning around my car when I washed it & applied Carnuba ! It's so deep & metallic dark. It changes slightly when watching in different lights, angles & surfaces. Some people say it's blue, other ones say it's black, but everybody say it's a beautifull colour. I love it.
For me, this business class limousine must wear a dark dress ! But I'll never pass this car in a commercial carwash.
I chose the sport kit option partly because this coulour was only available with it !

My Ride: E60 2005 535d Sport, Carbon Black, 19" M-light Double Spoke 172 8J Alloys, Media Package, Bi-Xenons, Heated seats, Black Dakota leather, Sun protection glass.
I had an E46 330d Sport which was in Black Sapphire - The Carbon black is much more distinctive, especially at night and with the Xenons on - it looks like a beast!

My Ride: Nothing to boast about!
It's definitely not black. I have seen one. Maybe the sun light here is too strong. The colour appears exactly like dark blue. Actually when I saw it, there was a period when it was very cloudy (before the rain). The car still looked blue rather than black.
But I like it; rather unique.

does anyone else think that the carbon black looks nothing like black. they should have just called it a midnight blue as it is. give me proper black anyday, (sapphire or jet).
You been living under a rock and never seen a Carbon Black E46 M3 before?

Yeah :/ I'm in constant pain right now.. It's still below 0 degrees Celsius and no sign of spring yet. I'm so depressed. I can't wash it outside, nor can I inside because there are no places that I know of where I could wash it in warmth.
Automatic car washes are utter rubbish!
*Sigh* It seems I have no other option than to wait for one to two more months.
Any good tips on how to wash&wax (and everything! wheels, interior, leather) the Carbon Black 535d? Yeah, the whole process, please And what products are good the job?

Carbon black is so beautiful IMO, but I have never had a finish that gets swirl marks so easily.
If the weather is too cold, take it to a detailing shop....no need to suffer for another two months!

I testdrove a 530xi in carbon black with M sport pkg. It was ugly. Looked almost purple. And it showed literally every mark. What a total nightmare it would be to keep clean! The dealer still has it rotting on his lot 4 months later! Big shocker
