My Ride: 535d se ac schnitzer front, msport rear.
does anyone else think that the carbon black looks nothing like black. they should have just called it a midnight blue as it is. give me proper black anyday, (sapphire or jet).

Probably called Carbon Black cause carbon actually looks more of a very deep grey/black with a hint of blue.
The fact that there are 3 different blacks should be a clue that they are not all 'black'

i wanted to get my e 60 in black. when i looked the colours that bmw is offering the carbon black and silver gray got my attention. finally i am getting the carbon black because i think it makes the e 60 to look more like a car of the class that it really is.imo black or black-looking colours like the carbon black are more proper for that kind of cars. but thats only my opinion off course and i agree with swanaz that carbon black should have been called something else if not midnight blue (cool name

One special colour this is. Very few are in carbon black.
On the other side IT'S A F%*&# pain in the ass when it comes to costs. I had my m tech rear spoiler (rear wing, trunk wing) painted since it didn't come painted and i was quoted 150euros. FOR A DAMN SPOILER? Sooo small....shish...what would have cost me to paint the whole car? 3000-4000euros?
Come to think of it...i wanted to get my rear bumper re-painted since it has some deep, little scratches on it...God knows from where. But now that i saw what would cost me...no thanx. I'll just try to buy a touch up kit.

Carbon Black reminds me of the carbon paper we used to use years ago, when we needed to make copies of original documents that were either handwritten or typed. The carbon paper was a deep, deep blue but the copies came out black.
I believe Carbon Black was only available here in the States with the M cars making it that much more unique. It can show a lot of scratches and swirl marks.

Yeah :/ I'm in constant pain right now.. It's still below 0 degrees Celsius and no sign of spring yet. I'm so depressed. I can't wash it outside, nor can I inside because there are no places that I know of where I could wash it in warmth.
Automatic car washes are utter rubbish!
