As you can see in my signature, I have become quite attached to the colour
I like it because of the BLUE under sun light and when the sun is not shining on it, its metalic black and not "dull blue" like you get with some of the other dark blue colours BMW offers.
If you're after black, well I can understand that it would be frustrating and a very misleading colour name. Black really suites the M-Sport look, so I do not understand why BMW only offers Carbon Black (which is more blue) and non-metalic black with the M-Sport pack. IMHO they should also offer the metalic Saphire Black with the M-Sport pack.
Here's a pic of my previous Carbon Black E60 in the sun, which really proves just how strong the blue is in the paint...

Wow. That's a lot more blue look than the carbon black of the E46 M3. With those cars, the blue is more subtle.

In the old days before copy machines , carbon papers were used to duplicate documents . If you can find one these days , it is almost the same color as carbon black.
By the way it is one of the best colors offered by BMW. I got one too.

I think this color is the best. Its blue enough where its not boring and its dark enough to look elegant.
I think if you put OEM silver rims on it.. the color stands out even more. Carbon black on sand interior is one of the hottest combos!
