My 2005 E60 530D - wont start after having driven it only a half hour before!
All the ignition lights switch on and all electrics in the car function but the car wont crank?

Had the AA come out and they checked the battery and confirmed battery was absolutely fine and was holding charge etc... then tried to start it with mobile booster battery and still no crank!

Have tried both keys suspecting that it could be immobiliser issue but same problem!

Could it be this IBS sensor im reading about that is causing it not to crank at all!

@AchtungE60 - I have been pressing the brake aswell as having put the car in neutral but still wont crank!

I was at an Indy Shop not too long ago and I saw an E60 being brought in on a flat bed because it wouldn't start. I remember talking to the mechanic who said it had something to do with the steering lock or something to that effect. I may be wayyyyyy off, I apologize I do not remember the specifics. I remember they were able to get it started but had to bypass some switch in the steering and heard he may need a new rack.
