Car went to the dealer because the a/c was intermittent and max fan speed would often not work....
After the hassle of being without my car for a week, I finally get it back. This was after a wait of four days to get the problem to duplicate itself and diagnose the problem. The "fix" recommended by BMW did not correct the probelm. On the 6th the service tech installed a new blower motor and blower motor resistor. I must say the service tech was very good and very diligent. He apparently obsessed the weekend of the 7th and 8th. He came up with a faulty ground. This was the fix. Apparently, because of the faulty ground the car that the battery was getting weak and it started shutting off non-essential items. The car went into self preservation mode. The dealership did say that BMW was going to add it to the TSB. So apparently there is TSB regarding the a/c?
All is working as it it should and I have Grady BMW to thank for hanging through the dilemna.
Kinda scary that our cars want to protect and preserve themselves. Can anyone say "hal"
